1. Booking an engagement session allows us to get to know me!
While yes, getting super duper adorable photos of you & your fiancé is always a plus, it is also important to get comfortable being in front of my camera & with the types of posing & prompting I provide. Do you feel like we vibe well together? A 1-2 hour session will definitely help determine if I am the photographer you feel comfortable following you around for 8-10 hours. Most couples will take some time to relax in front of the camera but by the end of the session I want you to be really enjoying yourself. On your wedding day I will be spending the entire day with you, & it is so important to feel like you have the right people in your corner to ensure that your day is not only magical & full of laughter, but also that it runs smoothly during those transition periods.
2. Establish your expectations for your engagement & wedding photos.
An engagement session gives us the perfect opportunity to discuss your likes & dislikes as well as execute those visions.
All couples are different & have a specific vibe. Maybe you love candid portraits & want me to capture those unposed in-between moments- I have many many prompts to capture those tender interactions in portraits.
Maybe you have a list of poses & specific portraits in mind that you want me to recreate- we can do that too! I will pose you & move through different variations to ensure we capture a variety of photos.
OR Maybe you just want to show up & throw all creative freedom into my hands- no worries at all, I come prepared for every situation. During your session we will test the waters with different prompts & poses to see which style you feel more comfortable with & which images you love & wish to recreate on your wedding day.
3. Your photos can be used to create save the dates, wedding decor, & amazing gifts.
After your engagement session you will receive a personal online gallery of 40+ beautifully edited photos for you to share via social media & print with a print release. These are perfect to create save the date cards to send to friends & family.
Many couples will also print the images to use as welcoming decor in their reception area on the day of their wedding . Many of my couples have even used their photos to make sentimental gifts for their partners & parents- such as puzzles, albums & 3D laser engraved glass keepsakes. There are endless ways to showcase your engagement photos!
The choice to schedule an engagement session is entirely up to you as my client but I always strongly suggest it to all of my couples. If you are still on the fence, feel free to scroll through some of my recent engagement session below.
